There is just something about this series.
For one, Joss Whedon really knows how to make characters.
TOPHER: "Because I was designing a person not a roomba. I needed you to be whole.".Joss designs people, not characters. The characters are real. Have all their own baggage that make them think, talk, and can't be wiped away. I think that's why I love Victor/Anthony & Sierra/Priya so much. Their love goes straight to the core, nothing can shake it, no matter what anyone else does.

The look of pure love at 2:42 melts me, every time.
So this show reflects back to us a good portion of just how screwed up humanity is, can be, will be, even in the innocence of following a genius thought to its hideously dark conclusion and then having to deal with those consequences. This show does cause and effect beautifully. It all stitches together so very smoothly and all the characters follow their own cause and effect.
ECHO: I know, I know, actions have consequences.
DEWITT: What if they didn't?
Also, I think what I LOVE, is the variety of female characters portrayed in this show and the amazing amount of growth they are allowed to have. They can be badass, or just want to live normally, there are upper management and the worker bees, there are the ones that build their own identity from the ground up. There are damsels in distress and distressing damsels.
I really love this show, and the fact it finished. There was a conclusion (as much as I didn't want to reach it again...no more Dollhouse episode notes to snuggle up to).
Themes: Love (on many different levels, the love for Dewitt has for Topher is so touching), identity, humanity's facets, technology, humanity bringing itself to ruin. Technology ruining the world, technology helping it. What is helping really?
